Every other school year, teams of professionals visit public schools which have applied to be a MARYLAND Demonstration School. After a staff review of the school's program, and completion of the application, the team visits the candidate school and spends the day observing classes, looking at the curriculum, and evaluating the support of the school for the discipline of physical education. This program, originally started by MSDE and now totally funded by MAHPERD, is co-chaired by two dedicated professionals, Mike Mason and Andy Roper.
The Demonstration School Winners will be honored at the Awards Banquet at the Convention in October and will receive a plaque and banner to display.
