The Future professionals Leadership Organization of MAHPERD

FLO’s Mission

    • FLO was developed to promote student leadership opportunities for future professionals in the state of Maryland

FLO’s Objectives

    • To provide students with the opportunity to become familiar with playing a role in a professional organization

    • To encourage more student involvement in MAHPERD, EDA, and AAHPERD

    • To provide students with the opportunity to make lasting professional connections

    • To mentor our future leaders

FLO Membership Status

    • In process of actively recruiting outstanding MD students from all colleges and universities in MD.

FLO Tentative Plans

    • Submit articles to MAHPERD Journal
    • Design and facilitate HPERD Leadership Conferences/Sessions
    • Attend EDA
    • Attend 2004 AAHPERD
    • Volunteer in local communities
    • Hold fund-raising events

FLO
PRESIDENT’S OPERATING CODE

    1. Communicate in behalf of FLO to MAHPERD Executive Committee.

    2. Arrange and confirm the site and date of all FLO meetings (including phone/electronic meetings).


    3. Immediately answer all correspondence from FLO members, MAHPERD members, and the MAHPERD Student Advisor.

    4. Prepare the agenda for all FLO meetings.


    5. Communicate directly with the Secretary and Treasurer and distribute all FLO meeting minutes to FLO members and the MAHPERD Student Advisor.

    6. Represent FLO at all conferences, workshops, and/or other functions.


    7. Submit an Annual Report of FLO activities to the FLO members.

    8. Organize a Maryland FLO reception at the MAHPERD convention.


    9. Work with the MAHPERD Student Advisor to create a presentation of FLO for MAHPERD, EDA, and/or AAHPERD.

    10. Keep a detailed working file of all FLO activities.


    11. Collect and review all written reports from FLO officers and Committee Chairs.

    12. Request and compile Annual Reports from all FLO officers and Committee Chairs.

FLO
SECRETARY’S OPERATING CODE

 

    1. Keep the official minutes of all FLO Committee Meetings and distribute electronic copies of the minutes to all FLO members.

    2. Compile and maintain current name, email, and phone number listings for all FLO members.


    3. Be the official custodian of all FLO files containing official papers, treasurer’s reports, minutes of all meetings, and all other pertinent information related to FLO.

    4. Handle all necessary FLO correspondence as directed by the FLO Co-Presidents.


    5. Submit a written Annual Report to the FLO Co-Presidents.

    6. Request and compile minutes of all phone, email, and in-person meetings of FLO committees.

 

FLO
TREASURER’S OPERATING CODE

    1. Take charge of all FLO monies.

    2. Establish and maintain all bank accounts as well as other financial accounts of FLO.


    3. Maintain accurate accounts of all income and expenditures while keeping up-to-date the exact amount of monies spent and left in each sub-account of the FLO operating budget.

    4. Pay bills promptly as authorized by the FLO Co-Presidents.


    5. Provide a written report of expenditures at each scheduled FLO meeting.

    6. Prepare all budget proposals for FLO request of funds.


    7. Review Committee Chairs’ request for funds and present such requests to the FLO Co-Presidents.

    8. Submit a written Annual Report to the FLO Co-President

FLO
VICE-PRESIDENT’S OPERATING CODE

    1. Communicate on behalf of Committees to FLO President.

    2. Serve as FLO President in the absence of President.


    3. Directly communicate with the Membership/Recruitment Committee in soliciting potential FLO members.

    4. Assist the FLO Co-Presidents in coordinating special projects and events.


    5. Serve as the liaison between the FLO Committees and the FLO President (all Committee Chairs should report meetings to VP).

    6. Assist the FLO President in preparing the agenda for all FLO meetings.


    7. Periodically review FLO Operating Codes and remind members of upcoming events, deadlines, etc.

    8. Represent FLO at all conferences, workshops, and/or other functions.


    9. Assist the Co-Presidents in compiling an Annual Report of FLO activities.

    10. Assist the Co-Presidents in the organization of a Maryland FLO reception at the MAHPERD convention.


    11. Keep a detailed working file of all FLO Committee activities.

    12. Submit an Annual Report of duties to the FLO President.
